ANTI-WAR RALLIES HELD AROUND THE WORLD

Anti-war sentiment is growing in the US with a majority now wanting to see the troops come home. Tens of thousands of anti-war protesters gathered in Washington to call for US troops to leave Iraq, now!

They held signs referring to the levees that were breached by Hurricanes Katrina & Rita, flooding New Orleans and Lake Charles, Louisiana. The rally attracted a diverse mix - from first-time demonstrators to those who had opposed the Vietnam War. Other rallies were held in many US and European cities.

Protesters wore black veils on the march towards the White House. The focus of the criticism, President George W Bush, was out of town “monitoring” hurricane relief efforts in his home state of Texas, using more precious jet fuel in an attempt to repair the political damage he deserved from his (non) handling of the hurricane Katrina relief. Folks, stay strong and positive and remember that “Our” troops are “Our” sons and daughters who have been misled, as we all have, by the big money politicians who use any excuse to make another buck. Adios. Hippie (mostly stolen from BBC).
